My introduction to clay was in 2012 in my first ceramic class at Armstrong Atlantic State University. I was sure I was going to be a sculptor because the pottery wheel was too hard at first. But I knew clay was for me. By the time I took my second pottery class, I was hooked. Something clicked and suddenly the wheel wasn’t so hard. It made sense; I was in love with the medium. Surface decorating soon became my favorite part of the process.

The techniques I use the most are mishima, sgraffito, hand painting, carving, and sculpting. Most of my inspiration comes from floral aspects of nature and Art Deco patterns. My variety and techniques bring uniqueness to each piece. Over the years, I have developed an appreciation for the gathering that is shared through pottery.

From dinner shared with a significant other on handmade tableware to a cup of morning coffee with your best friend, this connection and time spent is what I enjoy bringing to other people through the handcrafted pieces of art I send off into the world.
